The painting of Mar Elias en Nahr (Saint-Elie-On-the-River) in Kfar-Qahel, Lebanon-XIIIe century. Iconographic study and interpretation

Abstract : The purpose of this article is to study the apsidal paintings of Mar-Elias-en-Nahr (Saint-Elijah-on-the-River) at Kfar Qahel in Lebanon and to correlate them with the place and circumstances in which they were inserted and visualized. It is a question of placing these holy images in their main context of use, clarifying their liturgical value and evaluating their attachment to the sacrament of the church, in other words, to the main function of the place.
