Vers la fin du développement durable comme outil de justification du projet ? Un éclairage par les concours de projet urbain

Abstract : This article examines the ways in which designers in architecture, urbanism and landscape agencies, in France, take sustainable development into account into urban design processes. Based on the in situ observation of a Parisian agency of about twenty designers between 2010 and 2013, it analyses three urban design competition situations. These singular phases jointly explore: 1) the multiplicity of sustainable development logics of appropriation in such agencies (both in terms narrative forms, content mobilized and collaborations envisaged); 2) and the diversity of (converging or conflicting) professional practices logics observed in urban design agencies. Finally, we make the assumption of the end of a period of justification of urban project by sustainable development.
