Les Kurdes de Syrie et le projet du Rojava : rêve éphémère ou espoir durable ?

Abstract : In the turmoil of the Syrian civil war, Kurds try to play their game well. Having always been marginalized by Damascus’s successive regimes, they now see a historical opportunity of setting a system of federalist type political autonomy that would guarantee their rights as Kurds as well as the respect of their socio-cultural specificities. But they face difficulties in establishing a common political project since they are split into different political parties, themselves regrouped within two big antagonist trends. How can the process of territorial and political construction taking place in Syria’s Kurdistan be assessed today, at a time when Kurds have to confront external attacks conducted by jihadists from the Islamic State organization ?
