LES ENJEUX DE LA TERRITORIALISATION DE L'EXPERTISE DANS LA SOCIÉTÉ DU RISQUE

Abstract : The relationships of the expertise and scientific knowledge on which it is based are complex and ambiguous. While science is intended to formulate universal statements, expertise endeavors to characterize a specific situation, in order to contribute to a particular decision, in a determined place and time. This means that the quality of its territorial anchoring is an essential condition for the validity of its conclusions, since its object is itself inscribed in a defined territory. To better understand the dynamics at play, this paper firstly seeks to shed light on the relationships between expert discourse and scientific discourse. It then examines how societal and territorial changes modify collective expectations in expertise matters. It finally highlights the paradoxes inherent in expert discourse and in their limits, before identifying in conclusion the issue of expertise territorialization.
