La patine sacrificielle dans le statuaire africain. Une « peau » vecteur identité sociale et religieuse

Abstract : It’s a question of studying the material of the divinities through the analysis and the interpretation of the sacrificial patina on the surface. This patina is discreet but it transmits a message, its composition, its color can be interpreted and attached to a social group, an identity. With her, we can decode the history, the function the devotion given to the « fetishes» which are the material incarnation of the divinities, even their habitat on Earth. At first glance, nothing is understandable and yet everything is there.
