L’État participatif

Abstract : This issue focuses on the establishment of participatory mechanisms by different branches of executive power in a move to reproduce the existing social and political order, thus going against their promise to strengthen the democratic system on which their legitimacy resides. To demonstrate this, the articles brought together here draw on a relational and multi-situated sociology. This allows them to analyse diverse political systems: supranational (the EU), national (Switzerland), local (the Rhône-Alpes region), and post-authoritarian (South Korea and Burundi) and authoritarian regimes (Tunisia under Ben Ali)
