Laboratory - publisher: you said self-publishing?!?!? The example of the Rhône-Alpes Historical Research Laboratory, LARHRA UMR 5190
The Larhra publishes two journals: Les Carnets du LARHRA (entrusted to the doctoral students of the laboratory)
and Christians and Societies from the 16th to the 21st centuries (published by the Religions and Beliefs axis) as well as a
collection of Christian books and Societies. Documents and briefs.
To break the image of "self-publishing" that sticks to laboratory editions, Christians and
Societies from the 16th to the 21st centuries have an international scientific committee (Europe and America from
North, https://journals.openedition.org/chretienssocietes/396#tocto1n5) and a policy
of selection in "double blind" selection
(https://journals.openedition.org/chretienssocietes/3655#tocto1n1) which leads him to refuse
proposals on a regular basis. Similarly, 2/3 of the authors of Christians and Societies.
Documents and memoirs are external to the laboratory, and 26 of the 37 volumes published have been published
at the request of or in collaboration with other organizations.
LARHRA has decided to put its journals and books online, in full text, in
choosing open access platforms. It is the University's journal nursery
Jean Moulin - Lyon 3 (member of the REPÈRES network) for the LARHRA Carnets, OpenJournals
for Christians and Societies from the 16th to the 21st centuries since 2008 and OpenBooks for Christians and
Companies. Documents and brief, since June 2019. By choosing OpenEdition, the
LARHRA has chosen to place its editions in a virtuous circle, committing itself to professionalizing
its practices to be able to apply while access to the platforms allowed it to
gain visibility and find its place in the Public Scientific Edition in SHS.
