Figures de l’urbanisation contemporaine : les grands récits à l’épreuve

Abstract : As the title of the volume "What's new in urban geography" indicates, the articles present the recent issues that make it possible to understand contemporary urban dynamics in relation to globalization. It follows a volume published in the spring of 2017 that focused on urban social and environmental movements. The articles gathered here analyze the financing of urban production, the impact of the digital turn on the city, the advent of the sober city of networks and the critique of the metropolitan ideology perceived as the place of production value in the economic system. Two articles decenter the perspective by evoking the extent of urban changes in Africa and Latin America and the last studies the multidimensionality of the relations between aging and the city.
