Géographie culturelle et migration internationale

Abstract : This publication highlights the links between cultural geography and migration. With a vast retrospective embracing centuries and territories, Gérard-François Dumont questions the strength and permanence of cultural tropisms. With this intention, it contextualizes the institutional, state and societal factors contributing to the maintenance or abandonment of the cultural traits of the country or ethnicity of origin. This analytical precondition constitutes a foundation for the subsequent study of concrete case studies, all the more interesting because they are based on recent archival or empirical surveys or still in progress.
