A proposito del personaggio di Teonoe nell'Elena di Euripide

Abstract : This article discusses Theonoe’s scene in Euripides’ Helen. While many scholars have suggested a moral or a religious signification of this scene, we argue that the answer of the prophetess is not the moral act of a free conscience but the perlocutionary effect of supplication and persuasion enacted by Helen and Menelaus.
