Mystères et interférences. De Jan Bremmer aux Naassènes

Abstract : Breaking away from Judaism, Christianity postulates the prophetic significance of Judaism. The Hebrew Bible becomes an oracle unaware of its importance, and ignoring its truth, something despicable. A similar process is going on between the Christian « mystery » and the pagan « mysteries »: the Christian mystery has nothing to do with the pagan mysteries. It does not appropriate them, nor is it “influenced” by them. But they are just foreshadowing them. Such is the doctrine advanced by some Gnostics, the Naasseni in particular.
