La beauté dévoilée de Phryné : De l'art d'exhiber ses seins

Abstract : Since the 4th century B.C., the striking exposure of Phryne’s breast during her lawsuit for impiety is well-known. Phryne was an Athenian courtesan famous for her beauty. In this paper, I compare with similar forms of supplications (motherhood and erotic supplications) in order to better understand the efficiency of this performative gesture within a judiciary context.
