Le témoignage filmé : un entretien comme les autres ? Retour sur l’enquête « le temps de la coopération au Maghreb »

Abstract : With the generalization of the technical possibilities of image capture, conducting filmed interviews during social science surveys has become easier. Collecting speech, sound and image at the same time can therefore seem to be the most obvious choice. This choice, however, does not dispense with thinking about what video recording may imply, both from the point of view of the investigative situation itself and from the nature and use of the material collected and its constitution as sources for research. Based on a concrete case of investigation by filmed interviews, this article aims to contribute to the debates and reflections that may have aroused by the use of this tool. The particular nature of "camera time", the interference effects on the investigative situation, the possibilities of returning the images to the witnesses interviewed and the use of "off-text" will be examined.
