Telling Chinese Stories Using documentary drama

This is a presentation of a documentary play by Vanessa Lee and Gregory Lee based on (i) the story of Chan Chin Lee who immigrated to the UK in 1911, (ii) the history of the Chinese who served in the British Army Chinese Labour Corps during World War One, and (iii) the Chinese seamen who were obliged to man merchant ships for the UK and USA during World War Two on lowers rates of pay than white sailors and who were subsequently deported in a semi-covert operation by the British authorities in 1946-1947 for having dared to protest at their unequal treatment.
