The Chinese language proposes to consider what we call “nature” as “[what is] so from itself”, ziran 自然. This view of nature as being what occurs spontaneously refers to the phenomena which happen independently of the human will and whose mysterious origin may arouse our questioning and our wonder. It refers, on the one hand, to the idea of a principle which imposes itself upon human beings and on the other hand, to the dominant trends of Chinese thought which advocate the permanent balancing of humans to the world’s spontaneous movement. The setting of the first National Park of the country in 2006 and the current links between the training in Chinese medicine and the classical aim of adjusting to the natural world movement allow to see what's about the perception of nature in China today.

La langue chinoise propose de considérer ce que nous appelons « la nature » comme étant « [ce qui est] de soi-même ainsi », ziran 自 然. Cette façon d'envisager la nature comme étant ce qui survient spontanément renvoie aux phénomènes qui se produisent indépendamment de la volonté humaine et dont le mystère de l'origine peut susciter notre questionnement et notre émerveillement. Elle renvoie, d’une part, à l’idée d’un principe qui s’impose aux humains et, d’autre part, aux courants dominants de la pensée chinoise qui prônent l’équilibrage permanent des hommes sur le mouvement spontané du monde. La création en 2006 du premier parc national du pays et l'actualité des liens entre la formation en médecine chinoise et l'ajustement sur le mouvement naturel du monde donnent à voir ce qu'il en est de la perception de la nature dans la Chine d'aujourd'hui.
