Quand la (contre-)révolution vote avec ses pieds: penser l'explosion migratoire vénézuélienne

Abstract : By combining several types of primary and secondary sources, this article provides an overview of what we know about the Venezuelan immigration boom of the last few years. This phenomenon – unprecedented in Latin America – is analyzed in the context of the history of the petro-State and of the evolution of the political regime associated with Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro’s Bolivarian Revolution. The article also explores its implications and (mis)uses in local and regional politics.
