De la formación de la opinión pública a la expresión de la opinión del pueblo: La prensa de la crisis del Antiguo Régimen (1808-1823)

Abstract : This article, based on the Spanish press of the Peninsular War (from the afrancesado side as well as the patriotic side), and from the Trienio Liberal —that is, the press from the first two constitutional periods— will attempt to analyze how public opinion, which was initially restricted to the educated elites during the Enlightenment, gradually opened up to what their adversaries called the "hoi polloi", thanks in part to iconoclastic journalists such as Fernández Sardinó, editor of the Robespierre español (1811-1812) during the first Spanish revolution, or Mejía, editor of El Zurriago (1821-1823), during the second one.
