El proyecto La Rejolla, temporada 2008

Abstract : "La Rejoya is located to the east of the Chiquibul River, approximately 20 km to the east of Ucanal, and 6 km to the northwest of Caracol. In this region there are many small sites located on top of hills. La Rejoya is characterized by its stelae with glyphs and iconographic scenes depicting ties to the king of Caracol, K’ak’ Ujol K’inich II. In addition, an ancient causeway was found that exits La Rejoya to the east. The Proyecto La Rejoya is trying to define the exact nature of the relationship between this site and the great sites of the region: Caracol, Ucanal, and Naranjo. This work will present the results of excavations and reconnaissance, as well as its geopolitical relationship with other sites in the region." (source éditeur)
