Dino Buzzati et Stefano Caberlot : crise d'auteur, crise du personnage
Résumé
Stefano Caberlot, scrittore is a novel that was published posthumously in 1971 as a part of the Il regimento parte all’alba collection. It is a story of a man, a writer, in crises. He reaches the end of his life, he knows he has to die but this feeling of disorientation is not new for him. Death has always worried him and that is the reason why, through all his existence, he was tempted to exorcise this feeling by telling the adventures of people who are close to death. Is there a relation between this protagonist and Buzzati who was seriously sick at the time he was writing his novel ? The article analyses how the crises of the main character transforms into a real crises of the author by bringing into focus how Stefano Caberlot – a metapersona – becomes the symbol of Buzzati’s reflection on the concept of writing, on the death of the author and on the possible survival of literature.
Stefano Caberlot scrittore è un racconto del 1971 pubblicato postumo nella raccolta Il reggimento parte all’alba. È la storia di un uomo, di uno scrittore, in crisi. È ormai giunto alla fine dei propri giorni, sa di dover morire, eppure il sentimento di spaesamento non è per lui un fatto nuovo. Da sempre terrorizzato dalla morte ha cercato di esorcizzare il sentimento d’angoscia raccontando, per tutta la vita, di personaggi prossimi alla dipartita. Esiste una correlazione tra il protagonista e Buzzati, già gravemente malato all’epoca della stesura del racconto? L’articolo analizza come la crisi del personaggio si trasformi in un’autentica crisi d’autore mettendo in luce come Stefano Caberlot – metapersonaggio per eccellenza – divenga l’emblema di una riflessione di Buzzati sul concetto di scrittura, di morte dell’autore e di una possibile, desiderata, sopravvivenza della letteratura.
