La ville à l’échelle de l’Europe

Résumé : Several urban databases have been recently constructed at a European level. They are analyzed and expertized through a database integration approach. We then focus on Urban Morphological Zones (EEA). We develop generic methods for enriching and validating this database and better understanding which picture of urban reality is given by UMZ. We finally propose several thematic explorations of this database, according to a multi-level approach: we show that the density of an UMZ is not correlated with its shape, which can be characterized by an index measuring an average distance between inhabitants; at the European level, we propose a modeling of density distribution by using a regression model.
