Work, Innovation and Sustained Development

Abstract : There is an agreement to consider human work as being insufficiently considered in the challenges set by Sustainable Development. This communication discusses why work is a "forgotten dimension" of sustainable development. We suggest (i) the interest for a greater attention to the relationship between work, technique and activity, (ii) the necessity to articulate on the one hand the design of innovative technologies and on the other hand the question of living together at work, and (iii) the need, given the depth of changes required on work activity during transitions to sustainable development, to pay attention to the experience of the workers.
