Handicaps et inclusion dans la vie de la cité. : Pour une approche de la variabilité de la participation sociale

Abstract : Inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in the life of the city is promoted through housing policies. The lecture aims at drawing an analytical framework of social relations of everyday in the context of inclusive housing. The components of participation developed by Joëlle Zask are discussed in the light of Mary Douglas’cultural theory. The grid-group typology of social institutions makes it possible to distinguish different modes of social participation and to discuss Edgerton’s approach to competence of disabled people to address the issue of professional intervention in favour of inclusion.
