Kirrha 2008-2015 : un bilan d’étape. 1. La fouille et les structures archéologiques

Abstract : This article presents the studies undertaken by the Greek-French team at the mound (toumba) of Kirrha in Phocis from 2008 to 2015. At the same time it offers a preliminary report of the archaeological structures unearthed at the site. Two trenches some distance apart were explored, revealing a dense habitation of the Middle Helladic period, as well as horizons that reach as late as Late Helladic III. In particular, a cemetery dating to the transitional period (Middle Helladic III – Late Helladic I/II) was excavated in the western section of the site, while Mycenaean levels were found near the peak.
