LA RECOMPOSITION DE LA FRANCE EN VILLES SOUS L’EFFET DES MUTATIONS DANS LES TRANSPORTS

Abstract : [The question of urban transport in France in cities must be examined according to several evolutions. First, the needs of transport are more and more diversified : the evolution of demographic structures, the development of the double activity of households, the way of life multiply the nature of displacement. Secondly, a double urban sprawl is also changing the demand for transport. Thirdly, the very needs of transport are more and more changeable because the economic evolution is reflected in particular by greater mobility of employment and even of housing. Finally, the public transport of an agglomeration does not have the sole role of satisfying at best the expectations expressed by the inhabitants. In this evolving context, France in cities is confronted with a questioning of transport at two main geographical scales : that of intra-urban transport and that of inter-urban transport.]
