Modélisation de structures archéologiques à partir de données topographiques

Abstract : Rarely used during preventive archaeological work, three dimensional recording can bring out information otherwise difficult to understand. Some structures are obviously complex and require recording adapted to their condition. But the interest is not always obvious for the “humdrum” structures found in daily preventive archaeological work, where the complexity resides in the number of structures found, their dispersion or the time available. Work undertaken on the “rue Naste” site in Chelles and the “Musée de Quai Branly” in Paris clearly demonstrates how, using normal surveying methods, it is possible to create digital models of structures in context which improve both interpretation and explanation.
