Modélisation de deux ensembles funéraires de la catacombe des Saints Pierre et Marcellin à Rome : objectifs et méthodes

Abstract : In 2003, a previously unexplored area of the catacomb of Saints Peter and Marcellinus, south-east of Rome, is uncovered. It consists of several rooms filled with a considerable number of skeletons. This method of filing was hitherto unknown in this catacomb and for the period concerned (ist p.C.- iind p.C.), the dominant individual burial. The complexity of the arrangement between the various tombs and graves of internal organization required the use of new techniques such as representations of three-dimensional modeling to enhance analysis of this site to the complex stratification.
