Pèlerines à Epidaure. Femmes, guérison et publicité dans un sanctuaire panhellénique au IVe siècle av. J.-C.

Abstract : The Epidaurian stelai called Iamata were inscribed in the end of the fourth century BCE. They present fifteen women who came to look for cure or fertility provided by Asclepius. This paper examines the publicization of the tales presenting female pilgrims by officials from the sanctuary by introducing information about their age, origin and social background. Considering their experience in the shrine, it investigates their relationship to the holy power of healing.
