Les filles de l’Aufklärung à l’âge du romantisme allemand

Abstract : This paper presents a singular education situation, that of the daughters of scholars who were born and raised in the context of German Enlightenment. Based on biographical elements, the focus in on their intellectual evolution in the age of Romanticism. Two main examples from the Iena Circle are developed: the case of Dorothea Schlegel, spouse to Friedrich, and the case of Caroline, who married August Wilhelm Schlegel.
