Abstract : This article examines the construction of differentiated representations of science amongst children from the working class by using the theoretical framework of the sociology of culture. Many cultural practices represent science as male-dominated and elitist, effectively keeping these children at a distance, but the scientific cultural offer can also be a vector for questioning stereotypes when it present diversified models of scientists.
