Direito à Informação Ambiental: uma agenda de pesquisa interdisciplinar

Abstract : The right to environmental information is a young, booming right that permeates national legal systems and international conventions simultaneously: where does it come from, and where is it going? Presented as a meta-right on which many related rights depend (right to participation in environmental matters, to justice, to security against risk, etc.), a growing number of social movements consider the reinforcement of this right as a priority on the front of the environmental struggles. But it is possible to consider that it also accompanies, and probably without the knowledge of those who wear it, the tendencies towards the neoliberalisation of the management of nature, where the information becomes a resource allowing the marginalization of the stage through local empowerment of actors. At the intersection of multiple major environmental issues - digital and Open Data, citizen empowerment, socio-technical conflicts, ecological reform of the state and the economy, relations between information and development - the deployment of the right to information deserves attention . The book "Right to Information: An Interdisciplinary Research Agenda" reports on discussions between jurists, geographers, sociologists and management scientists. It explores French and South American fields, often in a comparative way, and addresses several dimensions of the phenomenon throughout its 14 chapters, grouped into three parts: the deployment of the right to environmental information in national legal systems; the political dimension of digital platforms for disseminating public environmental data; the multiplicity of arenas for the emergence of the right to information.
