Histoire des créoles et génétique : le cas de l'angolar.
Résumé
This paper deals with Angolar, a Portuguese-based Creole
spoken on São Tomé Island (Gulf of Guinea). Firstly, we present the
linguistic arguments which show that Angolar and Forro (the main
Creole language spoken on São Tomé Island) share a common
ancestor (proto-creole). Secondly, we discuss the impact of recent
genetic studies which aim to bring decisive arguments to explain the
origin of Angolar Creole. We show that the misinterpretation of
these genetic data might confirm the preconceived colonialist ideas.
