[Geography evolves with the distinction of different fields of knowledge, highlighted by the epistemology of this discipline. Geography has understood that space should not exclusively be perceived and studied in itself, but be considered in its links and solidarities with other objects of knowledge. Thus the geography has continued in an increasingly diversified branch, in order to better apprehend the world and to propose to the intelligence explanations ever more relevant to the evolution of the planet. Then disciplines, sometimes considered hybrid at the beginning, ended up taking a certain autonomy, of which the political geography and the geography of the population: these branches of the geography are they separated or communicating?]
La géographie évolue avec la distinction de champs de connaissances différents, mis en évidence par l'épistémologie de cette discipline. La géographie a compris que l'espace ne devait pas exclusivement se percevoir et s’étudier en soi, mais être considéré dans ses liaisons et solidarités avec d'autres objets du savoir. Ainsi la géographie s'est-elle prolongée en une ramure de plus en plus diversifiée, afin de mieux appréhender le monde et de proposer à l’intelligence des explications toujours plus pertinentes aux évolutions de la planète. Alors des disciplines, jugées parfois hybrides à l’origine, ont fini par prendre une certaine autonomie, dont la géographie politique et la géographie de la population : ces branches de la géographie sont-elles séparées ou communicantes ?
