Aragon et le choix du Sud dans les années quarante : enjeux nationaux et littéraires

Abstract : Aragon’s earlier writings had been deeply influenced by English and especially German languages and cultures. Nevertheless, Germany was to disappear between 1940 and 1942 as a source for his deeply referential poetry, letting southern poets emerge. The reasons for the new cultural orientation were obviously political, but literary as well, actually dating back to the thirties and to his discovery of how much courtly and love literatures owed to Italy, herself indebted to Occitan poetry.
