[The demographic transition period is too often presented as being followed by a similar demographic regime in the country in the post-transition period. Is it true ? Not at all. Indeed, the demographic regimes of European countries are very different, which leads to the implementation of a method of analysis leading to propose a typology of demographic regimes in Europe.]

La période de transition démographique est trop souvent présentée comme devant être suivi d’un régime démographique semblable dans le pays en période post-transitionnelle. Est-ce vrai ? Nullement. En effet, les régimes démographiques des pays européens se révèlent fort différents, ce qui conduit à mettre en œuvre une méthode d’analyse conduisant à proposer une typologie des régimes démographiques en Europe.
