Degeneration in workers’ cooperatives

Abstract : After a critical evaluation of degeneration theories, the authors focus on the organisational ideology as a central element of workers’ cooperatives. This leads the authors to qualify them as a particular type of missionary organisation. It’s necessary to analyse their characteristics to identify the organisational principles and arrangements that ensure their survival while respecting their alternative organisational principles and thus control the tendency towards degeneration.
