Problèmes de compositionnalité en morphologie dérivationnelle : le cas de la conversion

Abstract : In this paper the issue of compositionnality in derivational morphology is dealt with through a particular lexeme formation process which is conversion. The paper first describes conversion, and then presents specific problems raised by conversion with regard to formal and semantic compositionnality. Unexpectedly, conversion is particularly problematical with respect to semantic compositionnality: lexemes involved into a conversion relation seem to be compositionnal to one another. Finally, the paper shows that the same problem is found with other affixal lexeme formation processes.
