L’ancrage territorial des spécificités : Regards croisés sur les arrière-pays méditerranéens

Abstract : In the Mediterranean hinterlands (on the northern shore as well as in the south), new dynamics linked to the commercial and patrimonial valuation of local products are developing. These dynamics reflect new forms of adaptation of rural societies to environmental, climatic and socio-economic changes. Based on Moroccan and French experiences, this paper analyzes specification processes attached to the commercial development of products linked to territories, and labeling processes linked to origin and quality. We elaborate on the concept of territorial anchoring defined as the product of “an intentional and geographically grounded co-construction, by various categories of actors, of tangible and intangible links between a place and one or more of its specific components".
