Transcrire des écrits scolaires : entre philologie et génétique textuelle

Abstract : This article proposes an epistemological reflection on the problems raised by the transcription of school writings, in order to create a computerized corpus. It questions the operation of transcribing manuscripts within two theoretical frameworks: the philology one and the textual genetics one. It examines the models suggested within these two frameworks; as well as the possibilities and the problems encountered in the transcription of non-normalized writings such as pupils’ writings. Starting from examples of pupils’ texts, several recurring problems will be explored: transcription of non-verbal elements of manuscripts, topography of writing and metadiscursive statements.
