Théâtres Politiques. (En) Mouvement(s)

Abstract : This book focuses on different concepts and realities related to political theatre in the world in the past and nowadays and seeks to demonstrate the non-dogmatic aspect of a theatre open to contemporary artistic and anthropological issues. Called "activist theater", "ethnic theater", "popular theater", the wealth of political theatre comes from the interweaving of concepts which allows its current renewal while anchoring in a contemporary creative process that goes beyond the forms of its commitment. Thus, by highlighting experiences in Brazil, Iraq, North American, English, Portuguese, French, Italian, Algerian, Mexican, German, ancient Greek or Black Anglophone and Francophone Africa, this book gave the scale of the current vitality of political theater. Moreover, the DVD that goes with this book presents six contemporary performances of political theatre which allows us to consider the extreme liveliness of this theatre in constant friction with a changing world.
