« Français de Souche » : Être Gaulois ou Citoyen Français ?
Résumé
The idea that Adam and Eve spoke low-Breton language in Paradise was issued by two scholars in the eighteenth century, Jacques Le Brigant (1720–1804) and Théophile Malo Corret de La Tour d’Auvergne (1743–1800). This article attempts to examine the various conditions of possibility of such speculations. It shows how myths still prevail in France and continue to shape some attitudes.
