La démocratisation des contenus d'enseignement à l'école publique en Pologne: essai d'analyse des justifications politiques des réformes scolaires à la sortie du communisme.

Abstract : In Poland, the State’s monopoly in defining curricular content was abolished in 1989. However, the freedom given to textbook and curricula contributors is now being somewhat challenged by many educationalists. This kind of freedom raises a problem related to secularism as it allows the intrusion of personal, especially religious, beliefs in what is officially comprehensive education. This paper seeks to explain the conditions behind the emergence of the 1991 Education Act and to show that it was adopted by members of parliament on the basis of converging critiques of the marketization of public education and of the former school system.
