La ville et la mort : une approche entre expériences et affordances à travers les notions de seuil, de rythme et de geste.

Abstract : This work explores the spatial inscription of death in urban areas through the thresholds, gestures and rhythms implemented. After a situation of contemporary french funeral culture in the light of its evolution and the different trajectory it took in countries of neighboring culture, the work is based on a corpus of ten interviews on the relationship to space and atmosphere in the experience of mourning, facing an in situ work on various funerary spaces in France, Spain and Belgium. The confrontation of the two corpora allows to consider the intentions of actions next to the potential of actions to query urban planning of death and its project. Aiming at a better understanding of what would be a spatiality of mourning, this research allows to renew the foundations of the design of spaces of death at an architectural and urban scale.
