L'émergence du phénomène urbain en Anatolie : état de la question

Abstract : In Eastern archeology, the paradigm of Mesopotamian urbanization has long been deemed as the only path to the urban lifestyle and the dispersion of this phenomenon was considered as diffusion phenomenon distinguishing a south Mesopotamian epicenter from which propagate urban culture to peripheral areas. The research, carried out in recent decades in the Middle East, have largely nuanced vision and highlighted the existence of alternative scenarios of urbanization especially in Anatolia in the second half of the third Millennium. Because these independent paths are less impressive in their manifestations than those recorded in Mesopotamia, the question of the reality of the urbanization process is still subject to discussion.
