The 'one night-and-day observance' of lay-followers in Tocharian Buddhism.

Revision of the reading of a passage of a Tocharian B text kept at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, fonds Pelliot Koutchéen, PK DA M. 507(42-40), verso, lines 1-6. This text contains formulas of the ritual of entry in the Buddhist community of a lay-follower. It refers to the observance of fasting together with eight prescriptions during one day and one night. The paper discusses in detail the relevant phrases, as well as Tocharian B forms which have been newly identified.
