Résumé

This analysis is part of an international research program – launched as part of IRNIST, International Research Network in Sports Tourism – involving 14 European countries and the Mediterranean area and makes use of a common methodology. The goal is to examine the socio-economic and territorial impact from the awareness of how the combination of sport and tourism to contribute actively and effectively to the communities development (Pigeassou C., 2002; Tarfanelli E., 2010 ; Moretti A., 2015; etc.). The survey analyzes the city where the event is held and event characteristics, especially on aspects relating to the social, cultural, economic and environmental, by collecting information through interviews with organizers and municipality, questionnaires semi-structured and quantitative analysis of data. This study – the first so systematized in international level and realized in this area – is, in the first place, exploratory to understand the value and scope of this type of sporting event, but is also a very useful experience to track best practices and to identify management methods, relational and operational models and innovative solutions.
