This is part of a larger project relating to the presence of the Jain canonical scriptures (Agamas) in the present day environment. This article explores how these scriptures are being kept alive through original editorial projects which do not only provide translations into modern Indian languages but also illustrations making use of the same techniques as contemporary cinema or comic books which are familiar to a contemporary Indian audience both in the Indian subcontinent and in the diaspora.
