Bwεni, un mot pour dire ce qu’implique être griot chez les Bwaba

Abstract : In Bwamu language, bwεni is a polysemous term. It signifies «to hit and produce a sound», but also refers to the sticks griots use to play on their instruments. Its various meanings reveal what «being a griot» among the Bwaba implies: relations between social groups, codes of conduct, a special relationship to genies and ancestors. Halfway between a field report and the scientific article, this text presents some aspects of the doctoral research I was able to carry out thanks to the Ariane Deluz prize.
