Otinel et l'Europe : éléments pour une histoire de la diffusion de la geste

Abstract : This article aims at laying the foundations of an history of the reception of the Chanson d'Otinel, by providing a synthesis of the present knowledge about its diffusion, and by seeking to augment it. It concentrates itself on factual data provided by codicology, textual or documentary attestations, onomastics or archeology. These are necessary prerequisites to a study of textual and genealogical relationships between the different versions and translations, and to a new edition of the text.
