Abstract : This paper presents the first results of a collaboration that combines the methods of philological analysis and computer resources. The starting point of this project is to find an effective method to analyze the language of Machiavelli in his diplomatic and administrative correspondence (1498-1512). Our attention is thus focused on the context and changes in uses of words and our goal is to create a flexible tool with modular functionality.
