« Dixième art », « jeu d'auteur » : quelle politique de représentation du jeu vidéo comme art ?

Abstract : Through a corpus of politicians' speeches, newspaper articles, interviews and books dealing with the history of video game and its creators, this article provides an overview of artistic and authorial discourses on video games, in order to identify their site of enunciation and their issues. Here, we do not seek to answer the question of whether or not video games could be art. Our goal is to highlight several discourses which offer an artistic or cultural definition of gaming.
